Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses, training materials, subscriptions, and related professional development services offered through newsdilo. These services focus on professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work, and creating reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. The policy covers transactions made by individuals and businesses located in the United Kingdom and explains the rights and obligations of both customers and newsdilo when payments are processed or refunds are requested.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges

All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. Customers outside the UK may be subject to local import duties, taxes, or currency conversion fees imposed by their payment provider or government. newsdilo does not add hidden charges, but customers remain responsible for any bank fees or foreign transaction charges levied by their card issuer. Promotional prices are clearly marked and apply only for the stated period.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers for course enrolments. All payments are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission of an order. newsdilo does not store card details. In the event of a payment failure, customers receive an automatic notification and may retry or contact [email protected] for assistance.

Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

A binding contract is formed once payment is successfully authorised and a confirmation email is sent to the customer. This email contains the order reference, course access details, and a summary of the purchased services. Until this confirmation is received, no contract exists and no access to digital content or services is granted.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation during which they may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content or services that begin immediately upon purchase, the right to cancel may be lost once performance starts if the customer has given explicit consent. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, with access continuing until the end of the paid period.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available for unused courses within the cooling-off period where no substantial access has occurred. Once a customer has downloaded materials, viewed more than a brief introductory section, or attended a live session, the service is considered substantially performed and refunds are generally not provided. Non-refundable items include completed courses, promotional bundles, and customised training packages.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund, customers must email [email protected] with their order number, full name, and a clear statement of the reason for cancellation. Requests must be submitted within the applicable time limits. newsdilo will acknowledge receipt within two working days and may request additional details such as proof of purchase.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

Each refund request is reviewed individually. newsdilo assesses whether the service has been substantially used and whether statutory rights apply. Customers receive written notification of the decision within ten working days. If approved, the refund amount and expected processing timeline are confirmed. Rejected requests include an explanation and information on any available appeal process.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear within five to ten working days, while PayPal refunds are usually processed within three working days. Bank transfers may take up to fifteen working days. newsdilo is not responsible for delays caused by the customer’s bank or payment provider.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers

Digital courses and live broadcast training sessions are treated as digital content under UK law. Once access credentials are issued and the customer begins consumption, the right to a full refund is limited. Subscription renewals continue automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are subject to the same refund rules unless specific terms state otherwise at the time of purchase.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

In cases of failed payments, access remains suspended until payment is completed. Duplicate charges are investigated promptly upon notification to [email protected]. Chargebacks are treated seriously and may result in account suspension. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate investigation and possible reporting to relevant authorities while protecting customer data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom That the Policy Cannot Exclude

Nothing in this policy affects the statutory rights of UK consumers under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights include remedies for faulty services and the right to cancel within the cooling-off period where applicable.
